Objective:The aim of this study was to discuss the changes of platelet parameters and the vaule of prognosis in patients with acute pulmonary embolism. Methods:the study group was consisted of128patients who were confirmed the acute pulmonary embolism in our hospital between2007June and2013June. And the matched control group was composed of130healthy volunteers,it is no meaning about age and sex and so on in statistics (P>0.05) of the teams. All patients of the two groups underwent physical examination, echocardiography, and biochemistry etal.At the same time, the Platelet count (PC), Platelet average volume (Mean Platelet volume MPV) and Platelet distribution width (Platelet distfibution width PDW) of the two groups in peripheral blood was determined The research group review the difference of the circumstances and the degree of embolization, and platelet parameters associate with other observation index analysis. Results:MPV was significantly higher among the patients with PTE when compared with control group (9.40+1.59vs8.47+1.30fl,P=0.000). PC and MPV was statistically significant among the high risk group when compared with low risk group by Qanadli embolism index (P<0.05).High risk group of PC is less than in low-risk group,High risk group of MPV is more than in low risk group. The PDW between three groups were not statistically significant; The age was negatively correlated with PC (r=-0.353, P<0.001) and had positive correlation with the MPV (r=-0.319, P<0.001),Platelet parameters have no relationship with pulmonary artery pressure,D-dimer,and so on.MPV had no significant change in the treatment of patients after the next3-6months.Conclusion:We have shown that MPV was elevated in patients with PTF,,and it have certain clinical significance in judging embolism extent, but we can’t only use the MPV to assess improved degree of patients after treatment in3months.
