Purpose:Chinese medicine "preventive treatment of disease" intervention of metabolic syndrome in elderly patients that just with abnormal metabolic components at outpatient service and post-discharged with target organ damage (Mainly in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease),and the clinical study comparing with western medicine group, to evaluate the effectiveness of the control strategy and the superiority, and to promote the theory of traditional Chinese medicine "preventive treatment of disease" applied to providing clinical basis for prevention and control of the metabolic syndrome in elderly patients. Methods:The study includes60elderly patients in accordance with western medicine diagnosis standard of MS that just with abnormal metabolic components,and60elderly patients who post-discharged in accordance with western medicine diagnosis standard of MS that with target organ damage. Randomly being divided into the "preventive treatment of disease"observation group and the control group,30patients respectively. The observation group is treated by health preserving and treatment based on syndrome differentiation with traditional Chinese medicine and common western medicine. The control group is treated only by common western medicine, the observation time of the patients who just with abnormal metabolic components is4weeks,and the observation time of the patients who with target organ damage is12weeks. Then compare the metabolic components of the physical and chemical values before and after the treatment, evaluat the integral of TCM symptoms curative effect, and observe curative effect of target organs, compare the curative effect of the two groups. Results:There is no evident statistic difference(P>0.05) between the two groups about the distribution of age, gender, BMI, metabolic components, and the total points of the TCM symptoms before treatment. So they have comparability. The result of the total points of TCM symptoms told us, after treatment the total points of the observation group is lower than the control group, and the therapy index is higher than the control group. The total effective number of cases of the observation group outperformed the control group. The improved metabolic components such as Improved blood glucose, blood lipid, blood pressure, ect, observation is better than that in the control group. New cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events ratio of the observation group are better than the control group. The angina and heart function improvement of post-discharged in accordance with MS that with target organ damage, observation is better than that in the control group.Conclusion:1.Guided by the theory of Chinese medicine "preventive treatment of disease" and combined with Chinese medicine Keeping in good health cultivate and dialectical classification treatment to improve the signs and symptoms of the metabolic syndrome and who with target organ damage in elderly patients play an important role;2. Guided by the theory of Chinese medicine "preventive treatment of disease" and combined with Chinese medicine Keeping in good health cultivate and dialectical classification treatment can effectively improve the various components of metabolism of the metabolic syndrome and that with target organ damage in elderly patients;3. Guided by the theory of Chinese medicine "preventive treatment of disease" and combined with Chinese medicine Keeping in good health cultivate and dialectical classification treatment can effectively relieve angina, improve heart function, control the progress, and reduce the risk of new cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events;4. The application of the theory Chinese medicine "preventive treatment of disease" that prevent and treat elderly metabolic syndrome and that with target organ damage is safe and effective; To provide prevention strategy for elderly metabolic syndrome with TCM characteristics.
