Study On Influence Of Qian Yang Yu Yin Granules On Blood Pressure Variability Of The Elderly Patients With Hypertension

Purpose:To observe intervention of the hospital characteristic preparation-Qian Yang Yu Yin Granules on clinical symptoms, blood pressure variability and BPCR of the elderly EH patients by ABPM before and after taking the Granules. The aim of this research is to demonstrate the Granules can alleviate symptoms and lower blood pressure stably.Method:Forty old patients(60y≤age≤80y) clinically diagnosed with Hypertension by Outpatient and Ward Department of Cardiology and Geriatrics of Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM were selected in this study and randomly divided into treatment and control groups (n=20). Felodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide (Valsartan can also be added on if necessary) were utilized in both treatment and control groups to regulate blood pressure as the same basic combination therapy program, furthermore, the treatment group received oral Qian Yang Yu Yin Granules (The prescription of Qian Yang Yu Yin Granules capsule consists of the effective components of fructus corni, polygonum multiform, rhizoma alismatis, radix achyranthis bidentatae, scrophularia ningpoensis and sticktight). By the24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring(ABPM), related traditional Chinese medicine syndrome, indicators of blood pressure variation(such as standard deviation) and BPCR of both groups were evaluated and analyzed after medicine was taken within8weeks.Result:1.The clinical symptoms of treatment group were in remission.In the meantime,tra-ditional Chinese medicine syndrome integral of treatment group significantly lowered compared with control group and was thus statistically significant(P<0.05, P<0.01).2. The systolic and diastolic BPV indicators(SD) of the treatment group at each time were significantly lower compared to control group (P<0.05), especially24-hour systolic standard deviation (24hSSD), daytime systolic standard deviation (dSSD),24-hour diastolic standard deviation (24hDSD) and daytime diastolic standard deviation (dDSD)(P<0.01).3.In contrast to control group, the mean systolic blood pressure and mean diastolic blood pressure of the treatment group at each time using Qian Yang Yu Yin Granules all reduced (P<0.05), especially nighttime mean systolic blood pressure (nSBP) and nighttime mean diastolic blood pressure (nDBP)(P<0.01).4. Comparing the portion of Dippers and non-Dippers in two groups, there was no significant statistical difference presented between two groups after treatment (P>0.05). Conclusion:Qian Yang Yu Yin Granules can relieve the clinical symptoms and reduce the variability of blood pressure in treating senile hypertension on the basis of utilizing Felodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide (Valsartan can be plused if necessary) to reduce blood pressure to standard level.
