Objective To study the feature of clinic and prognosis in neonate withneonatal convulsion, and provide evidence for diagnosis and treatment. Methods Children with neonatal convulsion hospitalized in Divisionof new pediatric of our hospital from October2011to September2013were analyzed retrospectively in clinic and prognosis.Results127patients were investigated, which accounted for8.77‰ofpatients hospitalized in Division of new pediatric of our hospitalsimultaneously.(1)The first7days after birth, especially the first3days(56.7%),is the period with the high morbidity(.2)Intracranial hemorrhage(ICH),neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy(HIE)and purulentmeningitis are the most common etiology of neonatal convulsion(3)Subtleseizure is the most common onset form of neonatal convulsion(57.5%).(4)81patients were followed up,of them53with sequela in the nervesystem. Neonatal behavioral neurological assessment(NBNA),imaging, magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) and Electroencephalogram(EEG)has important significant influence on prognosis. Conclusion The etiology of neonatal convulsions is complex. Theonset form of seizure has various types with Subtle seizure being the majortype, which was ignored easily in clinic. Therefore, clinician should bemonitor closely, diagnose and determine the underlying etiology timely, giving effective treatment to improve the patient’s prognosis.
