NGage Extraction Basket In Ureteroscope Pneumatic Lithotripsy For Upper Ureteral Calculi

Objective To investigate the clinical application value of ureteroscopepneumatic lithotripsy(URSL) with NGage extraction basket in thetreatment of upper ureteral calculi.Methods129patients with upper ureteral calculi were randomlydivided into two groups,73cases in the control group were treated byURSL,56cases in the Ngage group were treated by URSL combined withNGage.Result60cases were treated and placed double J (D-J) stentssuccessfully in the control group, the success rate of primary lithotripsywas82.19%,12cases had residual fragments after operation;53cases weretreated and placed D-J stents successfully in the NGage group, the successrate of primary lithotripsy in the NGage group was94.64%and was higherthan the control group(2=4.522,P=0.033), residual calculi was not foundin4-8weeks after operation by KUB, and the rate of residual calculi in theNGage group was significantly lower than that in the controlgroup(2=10.150,P=0.001). There was no significant difference betweentwo groups in the operation time(t=1.847,P=0.067), the complicationrate(2=0.000,P=1.000) and hospitalization time(t=0.331,P=0.741).Conclusions URSL with NGage extraction basket in the treatment of upper ureteral calculi can efficaciously prevent calculi from movingupward, which can achieve higher rate of success and lower rate of residualcalculi compared with URSL.
