| Objective:In this study, we detected the expression changes of TRX-1in hepatocellular cancer tissue and tissues surrounding tumors by immunohistochemical SP methods, as well as to correlate with clinicopathological parameters and Overall Survival (OS) in hepatocellular cancer.Materials and Methods:60hepatocellular cancer patients underwent completely resected who were enrolled from the second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University (CSU). Those patients also have complete clinical and follow-up data. Then, tissues surrounding tumors of20cases were selected as controls. Immunohistochemical staining SP method was Performed.Outcome definition of TRX-1was stained Palm yellow particle in cytosol or nucleus, Positive cells<10%as negative,>10%as Positive at high magnification(400x). We use telephone to follow up the Overall Survival Time. Statistical methods Χ2test, Spearman rank correlation testã€Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox proportional hazard regression model were performed by SPSS software version17.0.Results:Positive expression of TRX-1in60hepatocellular cancer cases and20tissues surrounding tumors cases was63.33%and15%, respectively. The difference had statistical significance (P<0.01).We can see the positive expression of TRX-1was all stained Palm yellow particle in cytosol or nucleus. Expression of TRX-1was positive correlated with genderã€age and negative correlated with expression of tumor size. It had no significant relation to pathology gradingã€Hepatitis Bã€cirrhosis. Trx-1expression was negative corrected with overall survival time by Kaplan-Meier survival analysis (P<0.01)。Expression of TRX-1was unique factors effecting prognosis (P<0.05). Gender may influence the prognosis(P=0.076). Ageã€tumor sizeã€pathology gradingã€Hepatitis B〠cirrhosis were not unique factor. Conclusions:The expression of TRX-1was higher in carcinoma tissues than tissues surrounding tumors, The difference had statistical significance (P<0.01).Expression of TRX-1was positive correlated with genderã€age and negative correlated with expression of tumor size, but not correlated with pathology gradingã€Hepatitis Bã€cirrhosis. The patients with TRX-1negative expression had longer Overall Survival than TRX-1positive expression. Detection of TRX-1in hepatocellular cancer tissues might be significant in prognosis prediction. The multiple analysis outcome indicated that despite ageã€tumor sizeã€pathology grading〠Hepatitis Bã€cirrhosis were not unique factors for judging prognosis of hepatocellular cancer patients, expression of TRX-1was respectively unique factor. The value of gender approached0.05and possibly correlated with prognosis. |
