| Objective:The purpose of this study is to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of GAD-7in primary care outpatients through the scale (GAD-7) applicating in primary care clinic and to explore the applicability of the scale in basic-level medical outpatients in our country. And we hope to use GAD-7in basic-level medical work, through which the community-level medical identification ability of anxiety disorders could be improved.Methods:People from six primary care clinics in Shanghai took part in the survey. Finally94patients with GAD and94patients without GAD were selected into our study. A total of188primary care outpatients filled out GAD-7、Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA)、Hamilton depression scale (HAMD)、Mini version international psychiatric interview (M.I.N.I).78of them were retested with the GAD-7. We computed GAD-7reliability coefficient, sensitivity, specificity, validity et al.Result:The Chinese version GAD-7was shown to have good reliability and validity. The internal consistency coefficient of GAD-7was0.907and the retest reliability coefficient was0.413. The correlation coefficient of different items were0.373-0.714, the correlation coefficient of different items and GA7scores were0.709-0.869. The Spearman correlation coefficient of GAD-7with HAMA was0.787. Factor analysis support GAD-7is only one factor, and GAD-7is different dimension with HAMD. The area under the ROC curve of GAD-7was0.931. Using10as cutoff, the sensitivity and specificity of GAD-7were90.4%and80.9%.Conclusion:Our research results showed that the Chinese version of GAD-7was the reliable and effective tool of screening generalized anxiety disorder, which was suitable for the promotion and application in Chinese primary care. GAD-7had good internal consistency reliability and good validity with HAMA. The ROC curve area figured out that the GAD-7had high accuracy in diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder.
