ObjectiveInvestigate the effects of Erhuang decoction on the expression of TGF-β1during lung tiusses and the concentration of IL-33in chronic asthmatic rats andexplore whether Erhuang decoction has an advantage in the process ofintervention or not.Methods1, The chronic asthma rats were stimulated and sensitizated with OVA.2,Fifty healthy rats were equally divided into five groups: normal group, asthmaticmodel group and budesonide (BUD) group, high dose Erhuang decoction groupand low dose Erhuang decoction group by random number table.3, Thechronic asthma rats had been continuously challenging by OVA andrespectively treating with BUD and Erhuang decoction at the same time for sixweeks.4, After six weeks, the specimens were obtained. Detect the white bloodcell count and percentage classification of rats blood specimens; Test theconcentration of IL-33in serum and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF);Observe the lung tissue pathological changes, gauge the thickness of airwaywall, the thickness of airway smooth muscle and the expression of TGF-beta1in lung tissues. Results1, The blood leukocyte count and classification percentage in asthmaticmodel group were significantly higher than normal group; after the interventionwith BUD and Erhuang decoction, the blood leukocyte count and classificationpercentage were decreased in all the treatment groups (P<0.05), there was nostatistically significant difference between the treatment groups.2, The infiltrated inflammatory cells, the thickness of airway wall and thethickness of airway smooth muscle in asthmatic model group were significantlyhigher than normal group; The indicators of all drug intervention groups weresignificantly lower than asthmatic model group (P<0.05); There was nosignificant difference between intervention groups (P>0.05).3, Compared with normal group, there was significant increase about IL-33of serum and BALF in asthmatic model group and the expression of TGF-beta1in asthmatic model group was significantly higher than normal group (P<0.05);Compared with asthmatic model group, there was significant reduction aboutabove indicators in three intervention groups (P<0.05); There was no statisticalsignificance between the intervention groups (P>0.05).ConclusionsErhuang decotion may partially protect and alleviate the airwayinflammation and remodeling about chronic asthmatic model rats. The effectscould be complished through reducing the concentration of IL-33andsuppressing the expression of TGF-beta1.
