Objective:To investigate different ages hydrocephalus patients ventricle-the main complication of peritoneal shunt and clinical treatment.Methods:A retrospective analysis of different ages hydrocephalus First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University Clinical data for2010-2012were treated neurosurgery, where30cases of infants and young children; Children28cases; adults in38cases.96patients underwent ventriculo-peritoneal shunt, followed up a year, to ensure that the patient is still in the age group during each follow-up.Results:The infant hydrocephalus VP abnormal postoperative major complications (or blocked off one end of the shunt tube, or shunt infection, skin ulceration caused by pump) as shunt devices (23.3%); child hydrocephalus surgery VP Complications after infection, the incidence of abnormal consistent shunt device; adult hydrocephalus VP main complications were infection (18.4%). The incidence of abnormalities in infants and children group group p<0.05, the incidence of infection in infants and adults group group p<0.05where the shunt device appears.Conclusion:Different ages hydrocephalus ventriculo-peritoneal shunt major complications after treatment different clinical treatment should focus on the prevention of major complications, treatment should be individualized for different ages hydrocephalus and postoperative complications.
