Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a second higher incidence inChina, which is characterized by high malignant, easy to infiltrate andmigrate. Surgical operation, as the preferred treatment in current for mostsurgeon, is not suitable for most HCC patients because of the relative latediagnosis which means there’s no chance to do that. Even though takingoperation as early as we can, the recurrence rate is very high. In recent years, local ablation of HCC has developed greatly and got a satisfactorytherapeutic effect not less than surgery, especially for small hepatocellularcarcinoma (diameter <5cm). Local ablation for HCC has an advantage of noneed to open procedure, little trauma and never increasing the difficulty offuture treatment, which makes up for poor treatment of traditional surgeryfor the recurrent HCC. Clinical studies found that combined various ways oflocal ablation for HCC can significantly improve the treatment effect. Thisarticle tries to review and summarize the progress of local ablation therapyfor HCC and, and look to the future prospects. |
