Objective: To study the pleural effusion in acute pancreatitis (AP)influences the severity and prognosis. Methods: A retrospective clinical study methods, study in197patients with acute pancreatitis, to carry on the statistical analysis of theclinical data, to investigate the relationship between the incidence ofpleural effusion and patient sex, age, RANSON score in48hours ofhospitalization time, complications (pseudocyst, necrotizing pancreatitis, pancreatic abscess) and systemic complications (shock, pulmonaryinsufficiency, acute renal failure).Result:197AP cases, MAP158cases (80.20%), SAP39cases(19.80%). Pleural effusion of patients with a total of27cases (13.71%),10cases of pleural effusion in158cases of MAP (6.33%),17cases withpleural effusion in39cases of SAP (43.59%), SAP group incidence ofpleural effusion was significantly higher than that in MAP group (P=0.000);there is a significant correlation between index of pleural effusion and age, RANSON score the systemic complications (P<0.05), and there was nosignificant difference in gender, local complications. Conclusion: Pleural effusion in acute pancreatitis has the exactclinical value to predict the severity of disease, we suggest that the APpatients admitted to hospital routine chest imaging examination. Thepleural effusion of AP patients should be actively to prevent othercomplications.
