ObjectiveBy study of applied anatomy of the radial artery for coronary artery bypass and thesignificance of color Doppler ultrasound technology combined with the modifiedAllen test in evaluating the artery anatomy and the blood circulation in hands ofnormal people, aim to provide more detailed anatomical data for the radial arteryapplied in coronary artery bypass and safty basis for clinic harvest radial artery.MethodsDissect40sides forearms specimens(male:left,12;right12.femal:left,8;right,8),30cases coronary artery specimens, Observations:length of harvestable radialrtery;length of ascending aorta-coronary;diameter of radial artery(upper edge, medianpoint,the low end);diameter of main branches of coronary artery.Anatomical study:diameter of radial artery upper edge was1.62±0.48mm,medianpoint was1.54±0.45mm,the low end was1.63±0.56mm;the distance of RA-SPB tostyloid was3.23±1.65cm; the length of harvestable radial artery was22.52±2.45cm.diameter of AIB(low end of LAD1/3)was1.53±0.38mm;LCX(detourcross the left ventricular)was1.49±0.32mm;RCA(2cm away from the source)was2.82±0.45mm;PIB(Atrioventricular junction point)was1.29±0.26mm.the length ofascending aorta-coronary was8.25±2.19cm~13.20±3.29cm。Doppler ultrasound study: There were15%(27/180) Allen test showedpositive.There were96.7%(172/180) of examined samples whose modified allen testwere negative,which showed that,during the compression of radial artery,the bloodflow Vs of ulnar artery was increased obviously (P <0.001),reveral blood flow inSPB of radial artery were observed only in50%(90/180),and the blood flow singnalswere observed in princeps poilicis artery. Whereas there were3.3%(6of180)examined samples had a positive results which showed that,during the compressionof the radial artery,the color flow singnals in princeps poilicis artery disapeared or the blood flow velocity of ulnar artery were not increased obviously.Conclusion①The length of the harvestable radial artery was long enough to be applied toanastomose to any place as the graft for coronary bypass:LCX AIB PIB RCA.②Thediameter of radial artery is approximated to LCX AIB PIB.③The combination ofthe color Doppler technique with conventional allen test can provide a objective andaccurate clinical material of the blood circulation types in hands and forearms ofnormal people.
