| Object:According to deeply understanding of Professor Zhou Zhongying’s clinical experience and academic ideas in treating carcinoma of the lungs,the basic pathogenesis should focus on phlegm-stasis stagnating the lung and impairment of dual yin and qi and the basic treatment rule should be replenishing qi and nourishing yin,resolving phlegm and activating blood,resolving toxins and dissipating masses and a basic decoction was created by Pro Zhou.In this study,through the observation of Pro.Zhou’s treatment comparing with conventional treatment, we give an Objective evaluation to the rule replenishing qi and nourishing yin,resolving phlegm and activating blood,resolving toxins and dissipating masses, and try to proven its efficacy and superiority. Further the result can help us to refine Pro.Zhou’s clinical experience and academic ideas on the diagnosis and treatment in carcinoma of the lungs, to find out the uniqueness and creativity of Pro.Zhou’s treatment.Methods:69lung cancer patients, randomly divided into2groups.30for treatment group (Pro.Zhou’s treatment group) and39for control group(conventional treatment group).Both groups included syndrome phlegm-stasis stagnating the lung and impairment of dual yin and qi.In treatment group,the decoction created by Pro Zhou was used, in control group the decoction created by oncology department of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was used.For both groups,1decoction for each day and take for6months.Main indicator:(1)The main symptoms and signs score,as well as tongue and pulse, recorded every2weeks;(2)quality of life index, physical condition, Karnofsky index before and after treatment;(3) tumor marker, before and after treatment;(4) tumor lesions, before and after treatment;(5) biochemical blood, liver, renal function, before and after treatment.finnally both groups were comparative investigated.Results:(1)comparison in symptoms TCM improvement:After treatment,8cases were marked effect,15cases were effect, In the control group,6cases were marked effect,3cases were effect,there is significant different(P<0.01).In aspects of improving main symptoms and signs(like breathe,cough,phlegm,chest pain,chest distress and etc.)and secondary symptoms and signs(like fatigue, spontaneous sweating, poor appetite,loose stool and etc.),the total effective rate of the treatment group is higher than the control group;(2)Karnofsky score has increased in these two groups after treatment. The treatment group increased more significantly, there are significant differences (P<0.05), the control group showed no significant difference;(3)Recent efficacy of the treatment group were the total response rate (RR) was3.33%(1/30), complete remission rate (CR)0%, partial response(PR)3.3%(1/30), stable rate (SD),76.67%(22/30), deterioration (PD)23.33%(7/30). the control group were RR of7.69%(3/39), CR0%, PR7.69%(3/39),SD of74.36%(26/39), PD25.6%(10/39). Showed no significant difference P>0.05.(4)There was no significant difference between two groups in CEA and NSE carcinoembryonic antigen changes (P>0.05)(5)There is a significant difference between two groups in reducing the chemotherapy poisonous side reaction(P<0.05).Conclusion:The Pro Zhou’s Decoction for lung cancer is more effective than conventional decoction, the decoction created by Pro Zhou is effective in the clinical symptoms improved, improve the quality of life, reduce the toxicity,etc which prove the rationality of the treatment" replenishing qi and nourishing yin,resolving phlegm and activating blood,resolving toxins and dissipating masses "in lung cancer. |
