Objective: To evaluate the clinical effects of S-P ncision openreduction screw or kirschner fixationin the treatment of children withslipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE).Methods: From June2001to November2012, a total of13(14hips)children with SCFE in our hospital treated by S-P ncision open reductionscrew or kirschner fixation, were enrolled. Of them,8were in right,4inleft and1in bilateral.7cases(8hips) were male and6cases(4hips) werefemale. The children average seven years and eleven months of age(range,).The duration of follow-up after surgery was22months on average.Results:There were9hips (64.3%) excellent,3hips(21.4%) good,2hips (14.2%) fair,0hips (14.2%) bad, according to the Harris hip score. Oneof the children started to appear premature arrest of growth plate. No onedeveloped Legg-Perthes disease.Conclusion: it is one of the effective strategies in the treatment ofchildren with SCFE by S-P ncision open reduction screw or kirschner fixation, and this can significantly reduce the probability of vascular necrosisoffemoral head.
