Objective:To investigate the sexual behaviors and its related attitude among married and pregnant women in Changsha. Secondly, to explore related factors influencing quality of sexual life of pregnant women in Changsha so as to instruct sexual health care during pregnancy and improve quality of marriage.Methods:For this cross-section research, between January1,2013to July31,2013,812continuous candidates after37weeks gestation in obstetrics clinic of the third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University were chosen to investigate and analyze via self-designed social demographic questionnaire, self-designed sexual behavior and its related attitudes questionnaire in pregnancy and related knowledge test in pregnancy.741women submitted valid date in the endResults:Firstly, our results showed that741participants experienced sexual behaviors in pregnancy, of them,216(29.1%) participants reported their sexual behaviors in early pregnancy and77(10.3%) participants in late pregnancy. Among them533(72%) participants were conducted vaginal intercourse and379(71.1%) of them chose man-on-top position. The rest of these experienced intercourses in pregnancy [28%) reported non-vaginal intercourse, such as oral sex (6.6%), marginal sexual behavior (49.3%). In addition,25.8%participants suffered from negative consequences, such as infection, vaginal bleeding, premature delivery, premature rupture of fetal membranes, fetal distress, et al.Secondly, In our participants, the scores range of sexual attitude in pregnancy was0to12points [P50=4, P25=3and P75=6) and the total scores of sexual attitudes measurement were12points. The scores range of sexual knowledge in pregnancy was0to8poins [P50=3, P25=1and P75=4) and the total scores of knowledge measurement were8points. According to the related knowledge test in pregnancy,70%participants were lack of related safe intercourse knowledge. The sources of sex knowledge were various,81.2%participants received these knowledge from internet,64.7%from books,34.9%participants from gynaecologist and5.3%from family planning workers.Thirdly, multivariate logistic regression suggested that monthly income less than3000Yuan and positive sexual attitude were risk factors of safe sexual behaviors in pregnancy.Conclusions:Firstly, the patterns of sexual behaviors were various among participants, the main pattern was vaginal intercourse (72%) and the most common position duing intercourse was man-on-top position (71.1%).Secondly, according to the definition of this study,163(22%)29.1%participants experienced and safe sexual behaviors during pregnancy duration.And more than a quarter of them reported negative consequences, such as infection and premature rupture of fetal membranes.but we could not verify causal relationship between them.Thirdly, Monthly income,positive sexua attitude were closely linked with unsafe sexual behaviors during pregnancy duration.mainly of pregnancy participants of pregnant women were lack of safe sexual knowledge. They should receive professional instructions. It’s necessary to conduct health education among this population.
