Diagnosis And Treatment Of Metanephric Adenoma:4Cases Report And Literature Review

ObjectiveMetanephric adenoma(MA) is very rare renal tumor in the clinical. It is not wellrecongnised by clinicians and imaging. In this study, through4cases analysis of MAand literature review, to explore the clinical symptoms and pathological features et aland improve the diagnosis and treatment of metanephric adenoma.MethodsThe clinical and pathological date of4cases of MA from2008to2013in theDepartment of Urology of Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University werecollected and analyzed retrospectively. And scaned related Chinese and foreignliterature then summarizes the clinical characters, imaging, pathological features andtreatment of MA.ResultsThe study is consist of4patients. The1male and3females，aged from38to71years with an average age of55years. The tumor were unilateral and single,one ofthem in the left kidney, the other were in right kidney. In the study,3patients lack ofthe symptoms or other irrelevant discomfort, just1cases been found due to waist ach.The4cases were confirmed substantial masses by the imaging(CT and ultrasonic). 2patients underwent laparoscopic retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy due totumor volume was small and confirmed MA with frozen section before the surgicaloperation, one patients underwent retropetoneal laparoscopic radical nephrectomyand1patients underwent radical nephrectomy. The process of operation was smooth.All the patients were diagonosed as MA by pathological postoperatively.4casesfollowed up for8to22months, all were alive and without recurrence.ConclusionMA is very rare benign renal tumor and rcongnized in recent years. It is not wellrecongnised by clinicians and imaging. It is difficult to diagnose and differentialdiagnose. The final diagnosis depends on the postoperative pathology andImmunohistochemistry(IHC). Surgical resection is recommended for the treatment ofMA. Because the biological behavior of MA was uncert, a long follow-up isnecessary.
