The apoplexy is a disease that mainly due to abnormal blood flow wind which bringthe “wind”、“fire”、“phlegm”、blood stasis and other causes. It evokes cerebral vascularocclusion or the flow of blood vessels. The clinical manifestations of faint, coma, hemiplegic paralysis, crooked mouth and tongue, inarticulacy, numbness. Acupuncturehas improved the cerebral artery elasticity, made a dilation of blood vessels and Increasedblood flow. On the other hand, acupuncture has promoted brain wave function and brain, which has significant and curative effect. The propensity score method applies to clinicalobservational study, non-randomized controlled trials study and the failure scheme whichwas randomized controlled trial. This method can be used in studying the non random datalow cost, and is not influenced by the ethical factors, also apply to medical devices anddrugs in clinical trials, with research steps, easy to understand, simple operation, widerange of use advantages. Objective:The research is a retrospective study to analyze the effect of the acupuncture treatmentto the apoplexy patients in encephalopathy of the Henan Academy of traditional ChineseMedicine in the past three years. These cases would be analyzed in the way of thepropensity scoreMethods:To select the hospitalized cases which were first previously diagnosed as apoplexy inencephalopathy of the Henan Academy of traditional Chinese Medicine hospital during2011January to2013September. The cases according to whether they were treat by theacupuncture and divided into acupuncture group and control group. In this study, musclestrength improved as indicators of efficacy evaluation and the propensity score was used tocorrect the confounding factors. It was admitted to the hospital for treatment as a startingpoint for the end of discharge to evaluate the clinical efficacyResult:1.evaluation of the effectiveness of acupuncture group:121(76.10%) cases, invalid38cases (23.89%); the control group42(53.16%) cases, invalid37cases(46.83%); the acupuncture group was better than control group; propensity scorematching method after adjustment: acupuncture group54(73.97%) cases, invalid19(26.02%cases of the control group);40(54.79%) cases, invalid33cases (45.20%); theacupuncture group was better than control group.2.feasibility evaluation: using chi square test, propensity score adjustment method, propensity score weighting method to test before the adjustment data, P values wereless than0.05, with a significant difference, COX regression to compute the value ofHR is2.314, Logistic regression to calculate OR value of2.124and1.904; by chisquare test, Logistic regression test adjustment after the data, the P value is less than0.05, with statistical significance, Logistic regression to calculate OR value of2.345. Asmaller difference data of OR or HR value before and after the adjustment, theequilibrium of original data well.Conclusion:1.acupuncture can obviously improve muscle strength in patients with stroke, acupuncture is superior to conventional treatment of stroke outcome of simple routinetherapy.2.this study baseline data balance acupuncture group and control group is better,to support clinical reports suggest that non randomized controlled trials are likely toget the results of randomized controlled trials.
