The Epidemiological Survey In Study Of Relativity Between Constitution Of Traditional Chinese Medicine And Gestational Diabetes Mellitus

Objective: The purpose of this survey is to investigate the relativity between theconstitution types of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) and the morbidity ofGestational diabetes mellitus(GDM),through which to find out the TCM constitutionsdistribution of the Healthy pregnant women before pregnancy, and also to find out theconstitution types of TCM that easily cause GDM, it provide evidence-based evidencefor intervention and conditioning TCM constitution to reduce the incidence of GDM,also provide reference for structuring perinatal health care model created with TCMfeature.Methods: Retrospective study method is used for this research, this research carry on asampling survey among the pregnant women that underwent regular perinatal care in firstaffiliated hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April2013toFebruary2014, selecting91cases of GDM pregnant women included as the observationgroup, and randomly select the same period91cases of health pregnant women as a controlgroup. To investigate the selected pregnant women with GDM epidemiologicalquestionnaire (see Appendix1), record the results, and their are typed into the SPSS and toestablish the SPSS database. The χ2test and Fisher exact test are used for the count data, the ttest is sued for measurement data, Single sample k-s test is first used for measurement data totest its distribution is normal distribution, if it is normal distribution, two independent samplet test is used for statistical analysis, if it dose not belong to the normal distribution, twoindependent sample nonparametric test is used for statistical analysis.Results: Of the213collected questionnaires,182were qualified. We found that①The maincomposition of TCM constitution of GDM pregnant women is Pinghe constitution;②Themost common biased constitution type of TCM of the GDM pregnant women isphlegm-dampness constitution, and the two sets of incidence by statistical analysis derived:P＝0.001＜0.05, with statistical significance;③Besides the single TCM constitution, there are more tendency constitutions and multiple constitutions, the difference of theseconstitutions between the pregnant women with GDM and the pregnant women withnon-GDM is statistically significance;④The common biased constitution type of TCM ofthe GDM pregnant women are related to diet and age factor, it can be adjusted from dietetichabits,weight loss and proper adjustment of child-bearing age.Conclusion:①T he characteristic of GDM pregnant women TCM constitution isphlegm-dampness constitution;②The TCM constitution form is complex and various, thereare many tendency constitutions and multiple constitutions exist,the most common biasedcomplex constitution type of TCM of the GDM pregnant women is phlegm-dampness andyang asthenia constitution;③We found phlegm-dampness constitution is affected by diet andBMI, yang asthenia constitution and ying asthenia constitution are affected by diet andprocreate age.
