Purposes: By adding some appropriate anti-allergic herbal components to reduce the skinallergy to Gutongling tincture, providing a basis for the skin allergy of external preparation. Methods:Prepared some negative samples of each herb composition in Gutongling tinctureformula according to its preparation. Then applied those negative samples in the skin allergytest to determine which herb caused the allergy. Aimed at major allergens, chose severaltraditional Chinese medicines with anti-allergic effect to add into the Gutongling tincture.Screened out qualified samples by quality testing and stability test, then took skin allergy testto observe whether those samples reduce the skin irritability to Gutongling tincture. Results:Allergens results show that the sensitized incidence of blank control group is0%,thesensitized incidence of vehicle group is10%,the sensitized incidence of unpacked Gutonglingtincture,sample1,2and3are30%,50%,20%,20%,the sensitized incidence of positive druggroup is100%. After the high temperature test, abandon the sample reduced obviously thecontent Bullatine A, which added the Radix Saposhnikoviae extract. Keep samples added theBaicalin and Herba Portulacae extract having little effect on the quality of Gutonglingtincture. Skin allergy test results show that the sensitized incidence of blank control group is0%,the sensitized incidence of vehicle group is10%,the sensitized incidence of unpackedGutongling tincture,sample5,6,7and8are30%,30%,50%,30%and20%respectively,thesensitized incidence of positive drug group is100%.Conclusions:The Sensitized incidence without Shortstalk Monkshood Root negative sampleand Resina Draconis negative sample are all reduced, it shows that Shortstalk MonkshoodRoot and Resina Draconis may be the allergens in Gutongling tincture. The samples whichadded the Baicalin and Herba Portulacae extract have little effect on the quality ofGutongling tincture. Thus the Baicalin and Herba Portulacae extract can be regarded as theanti-allergic components to add to Gutongling tincture. The results show that the Baicalinadded to Gutongling tincture may have some antiallergic effects, and with increasing concentration of the Baicalin, the rate of sensitization reduceing. But Herba Portulacae extractdoesn’t show this antiallergic effect.
