Clinical Research On Degenerative Arthritis Draining Needle Combined With Electro-acupuncture

ObjectiveThis study adopted the randomized method, taking the regular electro-acupuncture as the control group, observe the clinical effect of the degenerative arthritis treated by draining needle combined with electro-acupuncture.Methods60cases of degenerative arthritis from the acupuncture department of Ming shi Chinese medicine clinic were randomly divided into Treatment Group (30cases) and Control Group (30cases). Patients in the treatment groupweretreated by draining needle combined with electro-acupuncture (Xu hai, Liang qu, Nei xiyan, Du bi, Yang lingquan, A shi point),the Nei xiyan and Du bi point were inclined0.8-1inches to Articular cavity,when have the sense of soreness was appropriate. The other points were treated by draining needle. When having the strong feeling of soreness, the needles were connected with the Shanghai G6805-1electric machine, using continuous wave, and the frequency was100times/min. while the control group were treated by the regular electro-acupuncture. The acupoint and electro-acupuncture frequency was as the same as the treatment group. Before and after the treatment, compared the VAS and the western Ontario and McMaster universities osteoarthritis index(WOMAC) of two groups, finally used the SPSS software to analyze the statistical data and made conclusions.Results1.In the total effect, the treatment group3cases were cured,10cases were markedly effective,12cases were effective and5cases were inefficacy, the total effective rate was83.3%, while the control group,1cases were cured,8cases were markedly effective,12cases were effective and9cases were inefficacy, and the total efficiency was70.0%. Compared two groups with the rank sum test, showed there is statistical significance (P<0.05), and indicated that the curative effect of treatment group had better curative effect than that of control group.2. There was no difference on each factor and total score of VAS and WOMAC among the two groups before the treatment (P>0.05).3. After the treatment, the score of VAS in both two groups reduced (P<0.05). While the treatment groups reduced much more than the control group, there was statistical significance (P<0.05).4. After the treatment, the score of WOMAC in both two groups reduced (P<0.05). While the treatment groups reduced much more than the control group, there was statistical significance (P<0.05).ConclusionThis study shows that, both regular electro-acupuncture and draining needle combined with electro-acupuncture could relieve the pain and reduced the score of WOMAC, while the effect of draining needle combined with electro-acupuncture was significantly better than that of common acupuncture group.
