Validation Of The Chinese Version Of ATAQ-IPF In Chinese Patients With Interstitial Lung Disease

Backgroud:Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a large group of disease with the pathological features of diffuse aveolar inflammation and interstitial fibrosis. ILD has a progressive course and ends up as diffusing intertitial fibrosis, which has been well recognized as an irrevisible process. The SGRQ (The St George’s Respiratory Questionnaire) and SF-36(The medical outcomes short form36) are widely used internationally to study the quality of life among ILD patients, while ATAQ-IPF is the only sepecified scale for the IPF patients. There was no mature domestic questionnaire used to assess patients with ILD in China, the developer of ATAQ-IPF has been encouraging the expansion and spread of this tool, which urge the translation and application of the available tool and methodolgy to help the ILD patients in China.Objective:Accomplish the English-Chinese translation and culture adaptation of ATAQ-IPF; Evaluate the raliability and validity; Discuss the applicability of this tool among Chinese ILD patients.Method:Translate ATAQ-IPF to Chinese and then back to English under the authorization of the original author, with necessary culture adaptation. Apply The Chinese version of ATAQ-IP、MRC scale and SGRQ to92recruited ILD patients in PUMC hospital. Enter all data into SPSS18.0and complete the analysis of items, test-retest reliability cofficient, Conbach’s a internal consistency, content validity, Criterion related validity to evaluate the raliability and validity of the Chinese version of ATAQ-IPF.Results:(1) Among first15recruited patients, the localized ATAQ-IPF had good test-retest reliability, the ICC calculation was0.95.(2) The evaluation of all92patients showed excellent internal consistency with the Cronbach’s a=0.96, Cronbach’s a of each dimension were0.72-0.95. The scale level content validity index (S-CVI) was0.80, The item level content validity index (I-CVI) were0.78-1.00,which proves good validity. The score between the Chinese version of ATAQ-IPF and SGRQ showed a significant correlation (r=0.72, p<0.01), Criterion related validity is good.(3)92patients were grouped according to the entity, age, course of disease and the degree of dyspnea, evaluate the quality of life.The study found, there was a significant difference between IPF and non-IPF patients (t=4.94, p<0.01); no significant difference in patients with different ages (t=0.76, p>0.05); A significant difference was observed in different course of disease (t=-2.68, p<0.01) and the degree of dyspnea (t=16.05, p<0.01)。Conclusion:The Chinese version of ATAQ-IPF retains good reliability and validity, and is qualified to assess the quality of life among Chinese ILD patients.
