Objective:To investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment of femoral neck fracture in children, postoperative complications and its influencing factors. Methods:This retrospective study is performed in children with femoral neck in Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Suzhou University from2007January to2012March admitted to the fracture. A total of35cases, including19cases of male,16female, age12months-14years old, with an average of8.9years. All cases showed the presence of injury history, including traffic accident injury in18cases, movement falls in11cases, high fall injury in6cases. The traction+hip "human" character of plaster external fixation was used in14cases of conservative treatment, including8cases of male,6female, average age is7.5years old; the operation was used in the treatment of21cases, including11cases of male,10female, average age is11.2years old. In the operation cases, we used the method of closed reduction and Kirschner wire internal fixation in1case, closed reduction and cannulated screw fixation in5cases, open reduction and Kirschner wire internal fixation in3cases, open reduction and cannulated screw fixation in12cases. All operation cases were not hip joint capsule incision and decompression.13cases were early operation,8cases were delayed operation. All cases were used postoperative hip "human" character of plaster external fixation. Postoperative X-ray or MRI examination was necessary in order to assess of fracture healing and complications. Results:All cases were followed up for6-60months, the conservative treatment cases were followed up for an average of11.2months, the operation treatment cases were followed up for an average time of16.4months. In conservative treatment group, there were6cases of excellent effect,3cases of good effect,3cases of general effect,2cases of poor effect, the excellent and good rate was64.3%; In operation treatment group, there were18cases of excellent effect,2cases of good effect,1case of general effect, no case of poor effect, the excellent and good rate was95.2%.Two groups of data by statistical analysis, the difference was statistically significant (P=0.043). In the conservative treatment group, there were8cases of complications, the incidence rate was57.1%;In the operation treatment group there were only3cases of complications, the incidence rate was14.3%. Two groups of data by statistical analysis, the difference was statistically significant (P=0.007).Conclusions:The treatment effect and the treatment of femoral neck fractures in children is closely related to the choice of inappropriate treatment, often can cause serious complications. We should act according to the different types of children with fracture and degree of displacement, combined with the factors such as age, treatment is mainly treated with operation of personalized, to improve therapeutic effect and reduce complications.
