Background Bronchial asthma is a common disease in respiratory medicine, it is a non-specific chronic airway inflammation involved of mast cells, neutrophils, lymphocytes and other cells. Its pathogenesis is complicated and the features are unclear etiology, protracted course, and difficult treatment. Currently, clinical therapy included western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, or both, the most traditional treatment is corticosteroids, β2agonists, theophylline, histamine H2receptor antagonists and anticholinergics orally, of which is mainly glucocorticoid-based therapy, because of intravenous or oral corticosteroid side effect and long-term use, the patient is difficult to adhere to, so the long-term outcome is unsatisfactory. Seretide is a new inhaled drug of bronchial asthma, which is consist of corticosteroid and long-acting β2agonist, its chemical composites is salmeterol/fluticasone. Inhaled drugs have fewer side effects, well-accepted, long-term convenient use advantages, the application results need further and in-depth clinical studies.Objectives To observe and analyze clinical efficacy with Seretide in the treatment of bronchial asthma, and to provide the basis for Seretide in the treatment of bronchial asthma diseases.Methods From April2011-January2013,60outpatients with bronchial asthma in our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group, the No of both groups was30,60patients received medication on a regular basis (antispasmodic, anti-asthmatic, anti-infection), for the observed group, the patients additionally inhaled Seretide (50μg salmeterol,100μg fluticasone) each time, control group received Gabe to Chennai-based aerosol inhalation (200μg/times, twice daily) the treatment course is2months, lung function and clinical effects of two groups were observed before and after treatment. Results The difference of the two groups in age, severity of disease and other aspects of was not statistically significant; After treatment, the clinical symptoms and lung function were improved, the total efficacy rate in observation group was100%, the total efficacy rate of the control group was80%, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05); lung function were improved before and after treatment, they were in improved more significantly in the observation group than in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Treatment of bronchial asthma with Seretide is significant efficacy with better clinical application value.
