Object:To observe the dentin slices of different treatment by scanning electron microscope,and investigate the combined occluding effects of Er:YAG laser and Gluma desensitizer on dentin tubules,then further guidance the linical treatment of dentin hypersensitivity.Methods:24pieces of2mm thick dentin slices prepared by complete isolated human teeth, and were randomly divided into four groups according to the different treatment:the control group;the Er:YAG laser group; the Gluma desensitizer group;the combination of Er:YAG laser and Gluma desensitizer group. A group is control group,which does not make any treatment; B group is Er:YAG laser group,which uniform irradiation10seconds by Er:YAG laser; C group is Gluma desensitizer group,which smudges evenly the gluma desensitizer,and drying up after a minute; D group is combination of Er:YAG laser and Gluma desensitizer group,which uniform irradiation10seconds by Er:YAG laser after it smudges evenly the gluma desensitizer,and drying up. After above each group of treatment, evenly cleans by the identical person with the toothbrush3minutes.The4groups surface treatmented, through fixed, anhydration, dried,,the conditions and alterations of dentinal tubule orifices were observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and analysed by morphometry. The data was analyzed by SPSS17.0software.Results:1. To observe the4groups dentinal tubules by SEM,and compare the average diameter with the4groups dentinal tubules, there was no statistically significant (P=0.254) except between Gluma desensitizer group(2.15±0.39μm)and control group(2.40±0.5μm),between the Er:YAG laser group (1.62±0.01μm), Gluma desensitizer group, combination of Er:YAG laser and Gluma desensitizer group (1.10±0.15μm) and the control group four groups, there was statistically significant (p<0.05).2. Compare the relative area with the4groups dentinal tubules, there was statistically significant (p<0.05) between control group (15.40±1.30%), Er:YAG laser group (2.20±0.44%), Gluma desensitizer group (5.95±0.92%), combination of Er:YAG laser and Gluma desensitizer group (0.66±0.27%)Conclusion:1. The dentin sealing of dentinal tubules by Gluma desensitizer can not tolerant of mechanical brushing. 2. Compare with Gluma desensitizer,the dentin sealing of dentinal tubules by Er:YAG laser had better effect and can tolerant of mechanical brushing.3. The dentinal tubule orifices are much more effectively by Er:YAG laser combined with Gluma desensitizer than by Er:YAG laser or Gluma desensitizer,and the occluding effects were Lasting and stable.
