ObjectiveBy collecting the data related the hospitalization expenses of the maternal fromfour public hospitals of some city, we can find out the differences about the structureand the influencing factors of the hospitalization expenses between the top threehospitals and the second senior-class hospitals, and take measures to control it toreduce the costs and the economic burden of the maternal and provide the datasupport for the sustainable development of the hospital.MethodsWith the method of stratified random sampling, we chose two top threehospitals and two second senior-class hospitals of some city, and collected the basicinformation of case and the detailed information of the costs of the maternal in from2012.01.01to2012.12.30from the center of information and the department ofmedical record. we established a database and organized data using excel software,and made statistical analysis of the data by using SPSS13.0such as descriptivestatistics, t-tests, analysis of variance and multiple regression analysis, by the way, αvalue of0.05.Results1.The basic situation of pregnant women, the average maternal age of them was28.77years;61.63%of them were the average monthly income in the "2000-4000";education in junior college, University and above accounted for36.16%; In the typeof occupation,45.7%women workers, farmers, teachers, civil servants and staff, Thetotal of which accounted for42.89%;9.13%women with pregnancy complications;cesarean section rate was52.81%; maternity insurance participation rate of64.28%;79.81%women the average hospital stay focused on "4-8" day,17.05%maternalhospital stay in the "9-13" or more days.2.The results of the hospitalization costs of the maternal by single factor analysisshowed that the differences on the ages, income, occupation types, admissiondiagnosis, mode of delivery, payment types length of hospitalization expenses werestatistically significant (P <0.05).3. The results of the hospitalization costs of the maternal by multiple factor analysis showed that The level of maternal income, admission diagnosis, mode ofdelivery, length of hospital stay, hospital grade were integrated into the multiple linearregression equation.4. the ratio of the drug of the second senior-class hospitals is higher than the topthree hospitals, but the ratio of the check expense, laboratory expense and treatmentexpense of the top three hospitals is higher than the second senior-class hospitals.Conclusion1. The main influencing factors about the hospitalization costs of the maternalwere level of income, the level of the hospital, hospital stay, delivery mode, theadmitting diagnosis.2. The older mothers were easily attack by complication of pregnancy and thehospitalization costs of the maternal, so we should also strengthen the surveillance ofthe maternal who were older mother.3. The hospitalization costs of the maternal who chose cesarean delivery washigher than the ones who chose normal delivery. so it is important to reduce the highrate of caesarean, and the rate of joining insurance of the maternal should be furtherpopularized.4. The differences on the composition of hospitalization costs between the topthree hospitals and the second senior-class hospitals. It is of great significance tooptimize the structure of the hospitalization costs about the maternal.
