Objective To evaluate spectral CT imaging in characterizing the pathological type of Pulmonary carcinoma. Methods Respectively analyze the imaging data of110cases with Pulmonary carcinomas(including41squamous cell carcinomas,47adenocarcinomas and22small cell lung cancers), compare the results with surgical pathology. All the patients accepted plain and arterial phase scanning spectral CT imaging,obtaining70keV mono imaging. Spectral CT imaging related parameters for the cancers such as calcium concentration and effective-Z in the plain CT and iodine-water concentration, and spectral HU curve), calculate the curve slope(40keV-100keV), dispose the data for statistical analysis. Results In plain CT,there were significant difference among squamous cell carcinomas(7.14±0.69),adenocarcinomas(7.71±0.21),and small cell lung cancers(8.32±0.12) in the effectiv e-Z.The calcium concentration of squamous cell carcinomas were obvious higher than ade nocarcinomas and small cell lung cancers. There were significant difference among squam ous cell carcinomas and adenocarcinomas and no significant difference between adenocarc inoma and small cell lung cancer. In the arterial phase and low energy level(50keV~100k eV), the CT value of squamous cell carcinoma was obvious lower than adenocarcinoma and small cell lung cancer, while the CT value of adenocarcinoma was lower than small cell lung cancer.Performance on CT spectral curve was the differences among slope (the average slope of squamous cell carcinoma was0.91±0.16,adenocarcinoma was1.13±0.64, small cell lung cancer was1.41±0.18). The average iodine concentration of squamous c ell carcinoma(7.06±0.62g/L)were lower than that of adenocarcinoma(10.12±0.57g/L) and s mall cell lung cancer (11.46±0.73g/L).The average iodine concentration of adenocarcinoma was obviously lower than that of small cell lung cancer. There were no significant differ ences among the water concentration of the three (the water concentration of squamous c ell carcinomas was1026.67±10.34g/L,adenocarcinomas was1026.72±11.57g/L,small cell lu ng cancer was1035.09±8.12g/L).Conclusion Different pathological types of pulmonary carcinomas have their own spectrum characteristics. Spectral CT imaging has certain value for differential diagnosis of pulmonary carcinoma.
