Using the method of clinical epidemiology and descriptive statistics, try to analys correlation betwwen adult bronchial asthma’s syndromes of TCM and HRV or HCov infections. Hope to provide clues and basis for adult bronchial asthma in TCM treatment according to syndrome differentiationMethodsChoosing RT-PCR for the detection of specific genes in HRV or HCoV from adult bronchial asthma patients’nasopharyngeal secretions; Through the "questionnaire on adult traditional Chinese medicine syndromes of bronchial asthma" to collect related TCM syndromes, then using the clinical epidemiology and the descriptive statistical method, try to analysis the correlation or distribution between adult asthma symptoms and syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine and rhinovirus and coronavirus infections.ResultsThrough the67cases of bronchial asthma in clinical and experimental research shows:virus infection is an important factor of acute exacerbation of asthma; Acute patients with rhinovirus infection rates as high as56.8%. The main features of acute exacerbation of asthma are wheezing, coughing, expectoration and chest tightness. Patients with HRV or HCov infections did not show any specific signs of obvious. The TCM syndrome types of Asthma patients on acute exacerbation with rhinovirus infections are Cold-Asthma and Hot-Asthma.ConclusionVirus infection is an important factor of acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma, the rhinovirus infection rate was56.8%; The TCM syndrome types of Asthma patients on acute exacerbation with rhinovirus infections are Cold-Asthma and Hot-Asthma. Prevention of virus infections for acute exacerbation of asthma has important significance.
