To provide a basis for hospital managers toprevent effectively, reduce and control hospital infection, improve the quality of medicalcare and ensure medical safety. Methods: Retrospectively review and analyze about the medical record of thepatients who discharged from the hospital during2011to2013and fill the “Hospitalinfection registration card” of those infected patients uniformly. Content includespatients’ general situation (gender, age, date of admission, date of discharge, etc.),hospital infection status (infection or not, hospital infection distribution of eachdepartment, patients’ infected regions and name of infections, etc.)Results:70169cases were collected during2011to2013,696(0.99%) belong toinfection in hospital. The rate of2011was the highest, as much as1.17%. It went anapparent decline in2012and2013, with1.07%and0.79%respectively. In the aspect offalse negative rate,2012was2.94%which higher than both2011(2.42%) and2013(1.43%),2013had a sharp decline compared with the previous two years. In terms of gender, we found428in33488female cases were infected, and268in36681male cases were infected. The incidence of hospital infection among femalepatients was apparently higher than male in every department. In age side, the youngest was5years old, and the eldest was92years old. The agegroup of60~has the highest infection rate of1.19%in all age groups, and the lowestrate was the age group of≤14with the rate of0.30%. The occurrence of hospitalinfection is associated with age, the risk of hospital infection increases with age.In terms of season, the occurrence of hospital infection has seasonal characteristics.Result indicates that the highest rate of1.26%appears in the fourth quarter, followed bythe third quarter (1.06) and the first quarter (0.86%), the second quarter was the lowest(0.77%).By analyzing the hospital infection rate in different departments, we found thehighest rate of infection was in ICU ward (27.19%), followed by oncology department(1.42%), medical department (1.15%), and department of surgery (0.49%). Departmentof E.N.T., traditional Chinese medicine and dermatology have the lowest infection rateof0.00%. Among the medical departments, the rate of hospital infection incardiovascular department was the highest (1.59%), followed by endocrinology andneurology with the rate of1.44%and1.15%separately, nephrology was the lowest(0.27%). Among the departments of surgery, cerebral surgery has the highest rate ofhospital infection (4.38%), followed by general surgery (1.10%) and orthopedic surgery(0.62%) department, vascular surgery department has the lowest rate of infection(0.00%).In the aspect of hospital infectious parts, nosocomial infections occurred mainly inthe upper airway, lower respiratory tract, urinary system, operative wounds, gastrointestinal tract, hematological system, abdominal and pelvic cavity and other parts. The rate of infection in the upper airway was the highest (36.78%), followed by lowerrespiratory tract (31.61%) and urinary system (13.8%).Conclusion: During the three years from2011to2013, the rate of hospitalinfection and false negative has gone down gradually. We should continue to strengthenthe investigation of hospital infection, grasp the infection trend, strengthen themanagement of each department for using antibiotic drugs reasonably, objectivelysupervise the problems found in the investigations, take prevention and controlmeasures, and reduce the incidence of hospital infection constantly.
