Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of C-erbB2, P53and MRP andclinical pathology and prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods:The C-erbB2, P53and MRP expression of carcinomas and adjacent normal tissues in50cases of NSCLC treated by surgery was detected by the immunohistochemical method. The relationship between C-erbB2, P53, MRP and clinical pathologial data were analyzed.Results:(1) Among the50tissues from NSCLC patients,23cases (46.0%)exhibited positiveexpression of C-erbB2;38cases (76.0%) with P53positive expression and26cases(52.0%) with MRP positive expression, whereas the adjacent normal tissues showed3,0and2cases with positive expression, respectively. There were significant differencesbetween the carcinomas and adjacent normal tissues.(2) C-erbB2positive expression in NSCLC patients was positively correlated withTNM stage, histological type and degree of cell differentiation. The positive expressionrate of C-erbB2in adenocarcinoma was39.4%, while it was58.8%in squamous cellcarcinoma. The positive expression rate of C-erbB2was34.8%in poorly differentiatedNSCLC, while it was55.6%in well differentiated NSCLC. The positive expression ofC-erbB2was36.7%in I-II TNM stage, while it was60.0%in III TNM stage.(3) P53positive expression in NSCLC patients was positively correlated with TNMstage, histological type, degree of cell differentiation and lymph node metastasis. Thepositive expression rate of P53in squamous cell carcinoma was78.8%, while it was70.6%in adenocarcinoma. The positive expression rate of P53was91.3%in poorly differentiatedNSCLC, while it was63.0%in well differentiated NSCLC. The positive expression of P53was70.0%in I-II TNM stage, while it was85%in III TNM stage. The positive expression of P53was81.6%with lymph node metastasis and it was58.3%without lymph nodemetastasis.(4) The positive expression rate of MRP in adenocarcinoma was51.5%, which wasmuch higher than that (35.3%) in squamous cell carcinoma.(5) P53expression in NSCLC was positively correlated with abnormal expression ofC-erbB2and MRP.Conclusion:C-erbB2, P53and MRP could play important roles in tumorigenesis anddevelopment of NSCLC. The union examination of these proteins may be helpful for theprognosis judgment of NSCLC.
