BackgroundTuberculosis mortality was one of the most important indexes for tuberculosis control and disease burden evaluation. How to measure tuberculosis mortality was important for study. In recent years, several death-cause relevant surveillance systems had been developed such as Diseases Surveillance Points System, Diseases Reporting Information System, Tuberculosis Management Information System. It is important to understand the traits of each surveillance systems for evaluating tuberculosis mortality data resource and predicting tuberculosis mortality situation. The study would analyze these surveillance systems from purpose, coverage, data collect method, death-cause diagnosis norm and validity investigation, thus the difference of data to find out better system for analyzing tuberculosis mortality situation and tendency in China.Objectives1Compare the characters of Diseases Surveillance Points System, Diseases Reporting Information System, Tuberculosis Management Information System with each design, application situation and analyze tuberculosis death data of each other.2Analyze the characters and tendency of tuberculosis mortality in China;3Perfect tuberculosis death relevant surveillance system in China, and provide basis to health bureaus for making policy on tuberculosis control.MethodThe study adopted descriptive study, and took the Diseases Surveillance Points System, Diseases Reporting Information System, Tuberculosis Management Information System as study subjects, collecting tuberculosis death data of Diseases Surveillance Points System, the Diseases Reporting Information System and Tuberculosis Management Information System; to find out more reliable tuberculosis death surveillance data resource, then describing tuberculosis mortality relevant characters from pointed surveillance system, which included tuberculosis mortality and its distribution situation, to understand situation of tuberculosis mortality and disease burden.Result1The Diseases Surveillance Points System was better than Diseases Reporting Information System, Tuberculosis Management Information System. The Diseases Surveillance Points System as Sampled Vital Registration System was better than others on monitoring death-causes distribution and more integrated on surveillance data, which had several ways for collecting death cases information and had validity evaluation for every three years. On other hand, The Diseases Surveillance Points System. But it was sampled by Stratified cluster sampling, which should bring out sampling errors.2The characters and tendency of tuberculosis mortality in China(1) During five years, the adjust tuberculosis mortality was declined from6.57to3.90per100000population. The tuberculosis mortality had showed some character, the male was higher than female, the mortality with7.81per100000population of male and3.66per100000population of female; the urban was higher than the rural areas, the mortality in urban and rural areas were respectively3.57per100000population and6.98per100000population; and which in east, middle and west were3.66per100000population,4.97per100000population and9.61per100000population; The adjust average pulmonary tuberculosis mortality was5.48per100000population, with7.45per100000population of male and3.40per100000population of female; the mortality in urban and rural areas were respectively3.34per100000population and6.63per100000population; and which in east, middle and west were3.44per100000population,4.72per100000population and8.98per100000population。(2) From2004to2008, the PYLLs was237376.7person years, and WPYLLs was131965.2person years, compared with70years life expectancy and60years retired expectancy. The PYLLs rate was0.73‰and WPYLLs rata was0.41‰, which was higher in rural, west areas and young age group from30to50. And average early death index was18.32.Conclusion1The Diseases Surveillance Points System, Diseases Reporting Information System was more reliable than Tuberculosis Management Information System on tuberculosis death surveillance, which should be used to analyze on the traits and tendency of tuberculosis death in China.2The tendency of tuberculosis mortality was declining from2004to2008, whose distribution was discrepancy according to population and regional distribution. The west region disease burden was higher than central and east regions, which was higher in young group than other age groups.
