ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the level of heat shock proteins70(HSP70) and the severity of cognitive impairment in adult patients with obstructivesleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).MethodsForty-one patients with OSAHS were monitored by polysomnography(PSG) inour hospital from January2012to December2012. The patients with OSAHS weredivided into two groups according to Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA):cognitively impaired group and not cognitively impaired group. Forty-four healthyadult were randomly selected from medical center as normal control. The serum ofHSP70and malondialdehyde(MDA)in the two groups were detected by ELISA.Results1.Serum HSP70and MDA levels in OSAHS group were significantly higherthan those in normal control group(P<0.01).2.The serum level of HSP70incognitively impaired group was significantly higher than that in normal cognitivefunction group(P<0.01).3. The correlation analysis revealed that the serum HSP70level was negatively correlated with the MoCA score in cognitively impaired patientswith OSAHS.ConclusionsThe cognitive impairment in OSAHS patients is associated with the increasedlevel of serum HSP70, HSP70level may be used as a biochemical indicator forprognose cognitive impairment in OSAHS patients.
