Objective:1、The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in patients with AECOPD isexplored.2、The relationship between vitamin D and the FEV1%predicted is discussedin patients with AECOPD.Methods:61patients with AECOPD were recruited at the Second Affiliated Hospital ofNanchang University from May2013to January2014and they are devided asAECOPD group,42patients with CAP as control.First, basic formation suchage, gender, weight, height and smoking index are collected in the questionsaires. Allthe subjects underwent pulmonary function tests and the forced expiratory volume in1second percent predicted(FEV1%) is recorded.Because25-(OH)D3is the majorstorage form of vitamin D,the serum levels of25-(OH)D3of all the subjects wasmeasured by the ELISA.The serums levels of25-(OH)D3was compared between thetwo groups.According to the criteteria of vitamin D deficiency in the “Evaluation,Treatment and Prevention of Vitamin D Deficiency:an Endocrine Society ClinicalPractice Guideline” which was promulgated by the Endocrine Society in2011,thecases of vitamin D deficiency were diagnosed between two groups and then theprevalence of vitamin D deficiency was calculated and compared.Last, thecorrelations between25-(OH)D3and FEV1%predicted was analyzed in AECOPDgroup. All the results were analyzed with the SPSS17.0.Results:1、The serum25-(OH)D3in AECOPD group is (18.51±5.52)ng/ml,and(29.83±11.54)ng/ml in in CAP group. In AECOPD group, the serum levels of25-(OH)D3was lower than that in control group. There were significant differencesbetween two groups about the level of25-(OH)D3(P<0.01).2、 Of61patients in AECOPD group,41were diagnosed with vitamin Ddeficiency and the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency was67.2%.Of42patients in control group,9were diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency and the prevalence ofvitamin D deficiency was21.4%.In AECOPD group, the prevalence of vitamin Ddeficiency was higher than that in control group. There was significant difference inprevalence of vitamin D deficiency between two groups(χ2=20.874,P<0.01).3、AECOPD with vitamin D deficiency group is had lower the FEV1%predicted(37.55±11.57)%than AECOPD with non-vitamin D deficiency group(57.29±17.21)%.There were significant differences between two groups about the FEV1%predicted(P<0.01).In the AECOPD group, the correlation analysis show that FEV1%predicted was positively correlated with the serum level of25-(OH)D3(Pearsoncorrelation coefficient:r=0.58,P﹤0.01).Conclusion:1、Vitamin D deficiency is highly prevalent in the patients withAECOPD.2、AECOPD with vitamin D deficiency patients had lower the FEV1%predictedthanAECOPD with non-vitamin D deficiency patients.3、The decreasing serum25-(OH)D3levels is correlated with worse FEV1%predicted in the patients withAECOPD.
