Objective To analyze the features of spinal tuberculosis and probe into the values ofMRI; to compare the imaging examination methods that are superior to show thedifferent pathological changes of spinal tuberculosis, such as MRI, CT, X-ray, improvingtheir reasonable applications and guiding roles in the diagnosis. Methods Retrospective analysis of the MRI data of patients with spinal lesions inOrthopedics and Oncolog of Yan’an University affiliated hospital from Jun.2011to Oct.2013; Contrastive analysis of the X-ray, CT, and MRI images of37patients with spinaltuberculosis which have been proves by operations and pathologies, comparing theirdisplayed characteristics of different pathological changes. Results Among48patients with spinal tuberculosis,138vertebral body destructionwere found. Intervertebral disc damage41, intervertebral disc stenosis or disappearance32.41cases with vertebral side cold sex abscess, including16cases empty into thesample.26cases with spinal stenosis,19cases abnormal signal compression of thespinal cord. Compared with surgery and the follow-up results, different MRI signs ofspinal tuberculosis diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were high that paraspinal abscessformation and disc disease, high sensitivity and low specificity were bone and endplatedestruction. According to the comparison of37MRI, X-ray and CT showing the varioussigns of tuberculosis, MRI has a greater advantage in displaying vertebral bodydestruction, disc involvement, paraspinal abscess formation and spinal involvement whileCT has obvious advantages in the judgement of sequestrum formation andcalcification. Conclusion First, MRI based on its imaging principle, the inspection area can bearbitrary plane imaging, multiple sequences, has a better show about lesions, which is an effective and reliable imaging examination method in the diagnosis of spinal tuberculosisand the differential diagnosis, especially the early diagnosis.Second, X-ray plain film, CT and MRI have their own advantages for the diaplay ofpathological changes, and the effective combination of them is beneficial to raise thelevel of diagnosis and differential diagnosis of spinal tuberculosis, which can provideimportant references for the choice of clinical diagnosis program.
