Breast cancer ranked the top threat of women health with the highest incidence inwomen’s cancer worldwide now. Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) represent as anunique subgroup of breast cancer, accounting for about15%of all breast cancer whichoccurs in young age (before45years).It raised more attention in recent years for itsidentical molecule characteristics, more aggressive pathological behavior and poorclinical perspect, such as metastasis at early stage and progresses rapidly in relativelyyoung women with unfavorable prognosis, resistance to endocrine therapy and targetedtherapy, relapse earlier although response to chemotherapy. It have become the focus ofattention of research and clinical challenge.Identical miRNA expression profile have been reported in cancer and may be usedas molecular classification and biological markers of some type of cancer. It have beenwell recognized that miRNA play a critical role in pathogenesis and progression ofbreast cancer, while it significance as an novel early diagnositic and prognosticmolecular targets in breast cancer, has been gradually raised attention. Some studiesshowed microRNA-21were high expressed in a variety of tumor tissues and correlated.with tumor grade, stage, lymph node metastasis and other clinical and pathologicalfeatures. There are rare information about the expression and clinical significance ofmiRNA-21research in triple-negative breast cancer by now. this study aim toinvestigate the expression of miRNA-21and correlation with clinical, pathologicalfactors in triple-negative breast cancer, which may providing valuable insight of triple-negative breast cancer, which also can be used as novel diagnostic/prognostic researchbiomarker and therapeutic targets in future.Aim: Explore the correlation between miR-21expression and clinical-pathologicalfeatures in triple negative breast cancer.Method:40cases of triple-negative breast cancer specimen confirmed by department of Pathology through Immunohistochemistry method collected in breastsurgery at our hospital from January2012to June2013.Real-time quantitative RT-PCRdetection of miRNA-21expression in triple negative breast cancer, and analyze thesignificance of clinical and pathological correlation.Result:1. The incidence of expression of miR-21in triple-negative breast cancerwas significantly higher than its adjacent breast tissues.2.The expression of miR-21was increased in triple negative breast cancer patients and positively correlated withTNM stage and lymph node metastasis. Conclusion: The expression of miR-21was increased in triple negative breastcancer, could be used as diagnostic and prognostic factor for triple negative breastcancer, it can also be used as a new tumor marker and more study work needed toelucidate and confirm further.
