Objective: To investigate the surgical strategy for visceral arteryaneurysms (VAAs).Methods:The clinical data of28patients who underwent treatment forVAAs in the first affiliated hospital of Fujian Medical University fromJanuary2007to October2013were retrospectively analyzed. Results: Of28cases,24men and4women with VAAs were recruited, a totalof33visceral artery aneurysms.10splenic arteries,16superiormesenteric arteries,4celiac arteries,1pancreaticoduodenal artery and1gastroduodenal artery were involved. Endovascular intervention wascarried out on17patients (18VAAs), while open-surgery was performed On6patients.The technical success rate was88.2%witn2cases failed inendovascular.6cases underwent open surgery turned out to be successful.5cases were treated with conservative treatment. The overall successrate of the surgical technique was91.3%(21/23).ALL patients wereFollowed up for3to80(mean31.6) months, except for one case who diedof lung cancer. For Angiographic and CTA data were analyzed before andafter the treatment. There are no rupture, recurrence and increase indiameter; no serious complications or death; and no the end organischemia post-operation.Conclusion: VAAs reguires early intervention. Compreheasivepreoperative imaging evaluation is necessary. Traditional open surgeryhas its advantages. However, endovascular therapy for the treatment ofVAAs has obvious advantages due to a minimally invasive approach. Whenperforming endovascular therapy, the operator must take into account thevessels involved, the underlying cause and end-organ conditions.Technical success rate of endovascular therapy is satisfactory, but theend-organ ischemia should be evaluated..
