Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of two products that are often used in clinic ininhibiting enamel demineralization around orthodontic brackets,it is expected toprovide the experiment addiction for clinical practice. Methods:One hundred sixteen extracted human premolars were selected for bonding andrandomly divided into four groups:group A:GC resin-modified glass ionomer、groupB:3M Transbon cement+3M enamel varnish group C:GC resin-modified glassionomer+3M enamel varnish group D:3M Transbon cement group.the enamel that1mm to occlusal edge of the bracket is experiment area, the rest is covered with nailvarnish.then the samples were immersed in demineralization solution andremineralization solution in turn for30cycles.then environmental scanning electronmicrocopy、microhardness and dye penetration were used to observe demineralizationof each samples. One way ANOVA statistical tests were employed to evaluatesignificant differences among groups, the data was statistical analyzed by NanchangUniversity SPASS softwareResults:1.Microscopic observation results:Group A: The surface of enamel is rough, showing Obviously scalydemineralization;Group B:Enamel surface roughness, but no significant demineralization pores, showing shallow scaly demineralization;Group C: Enamel surface dense, slightly rough, no significant signs ofdemineralization;Group D:Enamel surface is extremely rough, normal structure disappeared, showing a honeycombed appearance.2.microhardness resultMicrohardness result showed no Statistical significance between group B and group C,the rest showed statistical significance by Pairwise comparison.3.Dye penetration resultDye penetration result is consistent with microhardness result,no Statisticalsignificance between group B and group C,the rest showed statistical significance byPairwise comparison.Conclusion:1、GC resin-modified glass ionomer and3M GIC enamel vanish both have theeffect of preventing enamel demineralization in vitro,2、3M GIC enamel vanish proved to be more effective than GC resin-modifiedglass ionomer in vitro.3、The group use both GC resin-modified glass ionomer and3M GIC enamelvanish got the best protection.
