Objective:To compare two different operation methods, including percutaneoustranscatheter closure and minimally invasive perventricular device closure. Andanalyze their advantages and disadvantages, to get the better procedure of treatingventricular septal defect(VSD).Methods:The study involved95patients with VSDs in the first affiliated hospital ofNanchang university during the period from January1,2011to December31,2013.Fifty-one patients were treated by percutaneous transcatheter closure(medicine group),forty-four by minimally invasive perventricular device closure(surgical group). And analysising the age, hospitalized duration, diameter of VSD,right ventricular diameter of pre-operation and postoperation, left ventricularend-diastolic dimension of pre-operation and postoperation, white blood cell count ofpre-operation and postoperation, creatinine of pre-operation and postoperation, success rates and complications. Results:In the surgical group,1case failed and the success rate was97.7%.23cases hadcomplications(53.5%), including pulmonary infection in13cases(30.2%),arrhythmiain5cases(11.6%). The hospitalized duration was(11.28±5.32)days, the white bloodcell count of postoperation was(14.41±4.76)109/L, the hospital costswas(33.5±3.8)thousand.In the medicine group,3case failed and the success rate was94.1%.10caseshad complications(20.8%). including pulmonary infection in2cases(0.42%),arrhythmia in6cases(12.5%).The hospitalized duration was(6.98±2.02)days, thewhite blood cell count of postoperation was(7.88±2.47)109/L, the hospital costswas(23.8±2.8)thousand.Conclusions: The two procedures are all safe and effective in treating VSDs, but percutaneousinterventional closure has obvious advantages for example spend less, fewercomplications, shorter hospital stay, less trauma, so it can be used as the preferredmethod for the treatment of ventricular septal defects. And the minimally invasiveperventricular device closure will be a treatment for a supplement.
