ObjectiveThe model of estrogen deficiency osteoporosis rabitts was established byovariectomy. Thus to investgate the effect of1,25(OH)2D3on the vitamin D3metabolism in osteop0rosis rabitts.MethodsFemale New Zealand white rabbits aged8months were ovariectomized bilate rallyas models of postmenopausal osteoporosis and they were randomly ivided into2groups:1,25(OH)2D3group and control group.Rabitts in1,25(OH)2D3groupwere given1,25(OH)2D3,and in control group were given ordinary feed. The levelof1,25(OH)2D3and25(OH)D3were detemined among two groups after theywere given drug for12weeks.ResultsAfter the experi mental animals were given drug for12weeks, the serum1,25(OH)2D3and25(OH)D3were significantly higher than those of control group (p<0.05),the bone marrow1,25(OH)2D3was significantly higher than those ofcontrol group (p<0.05). And the level of bone marrow1,25(OH)2D3was lowerthan serum in control group(p<0.01),but no difference was found between serum andbone marrow in1,25(OH)2D3group (p>0.05).Meanwhile the level of bonemarrow25(OH)D3was lower than serum in1,25(OH)2D3group(p<0.01),but no difference was found between serum and bone marrow in control group(p>0.05).Conclusion1.1,25(OH)2D3increased the level of serum and bone marrow1,25(OH)2D3in osteoporosis rabitts. 2.1,25(OH)2D3increased the level of serum and bone marrow25(OH)D3inosteoporosis rabitts.
