Objective To investigate the effects on the thrombosis and vascular wall by different concentrations of lauromacrogol intravenous injection through the animal experiment, which can explore the lowest concentration of lauromacrogol that can injury vascular wall and the formation of thrombosis. Methods Thirty ear marginal veins of rabbits whose weight ranged from2.5kg to3.0kg and whose sex was not limited were divided at random into six groups:1%lauromacrogol group(n=5)、0.9%lauromacrogol group(n=5)、0.8%lauromacrogol group(n=5)、0.7%lauromacrogol group(n=5、0.6%lauromacrogol group(n=5)and normal saline group(n=5).The local veins and their side tissue were cut off for samples which were given HE staining and detected VEGF expressions by immunohistochemistry at the first day、third day、fifth day and seventh day after injection. Results Visual observation and HE staining showed that 1%lauromacrogol group,0.9%lauromacrogol group,0.8%lauromacrogol group and0.7%lauromacrogol group had thrombosis in veins after injection,0.6%lauromacrogol group and normal saline group hadn’t thrombosis in veins after injection. The score of VEGF expressions showed that1%lauromacrogol group,0.9%lauromacrogol group,0.8%lauromacrogol group and0.7%lauromacrogol group hadn’t statistically significant differences between each other each time(P>0.05) and there were statistically significant differences between0.6%lauromacrogol group and other four groups(P<0.01) in each time. Conclusions From the animal experiment lauromacrogol had the effect of vascular injury, thrombosis, eventually led to the injection vein disappear when it in0.7%above.
