Objective To compare the effective outcome of intratumoral injection of1%lauromacrogol and glucocorticoid in the treatment of proliferating hemangioma, andexplore the action mechanism of two kinds of drugs in the hemangioma.Methods forty-two patients with proliferating hemangioma were divided into sevengroups, six patients every group. Group A as control group. Group B were injected with1%lauromacrogol(1mg/cm2) before thirty minutes. Group C were injected with1%lauromacrogol before forty-eight hours. Group D were injected with1%lauromacrogolbefore two weeks. Group E were injected with triamcinolone acetonide before thirtyminutes. Group F were injected with triamcinolone acetonide before forty-eight hours.Group G were injected with triamcinolone acetonide before two weeks. Observe thetissue configuration of above examples by histochemistry method and detect theexpression level of the VEGF and MVD by immunohistochemistry method.Results Observing the specimen dyed by HE in the light microscope,there were nosignificant difference between injected group and non-injected group. But by the meansof immunohistochemistry, the expression of the VEGF and MVD could been downregulation by1%lauromacrogol and glucocorticoid. The variance was significance inall groups, except group A, group B and group E.Conclusion Intralesional lauromacrogol therapy for infantile hemangiomas is safe,reliable and convient, Lauromacrogol maybe induce the breakdown of vascular endothelial cell, greatly decrease the experrssion of VEGF and MVD, and the effect isgreater than triamcinolone acetonide.
