Objective To explore the short-term therapeutic effect of vertebral pillar block im-plantation united vertebral pedicle screw system in treatment of thoraeolumbar vertebralfractures. Methods According to the research standard,42people of thoracolumbar fractureare devided randomly into2groups:group of vertebralplasty (group A,21cases)and cont-rol group(group B,21cases).The following parameters were evaluated pre-operation, afte-r operation, at the1-month and6-month follow-up:The ratio of vertebral height, Cobb-angles of wounded vertebral,VAS and ODI scores, pedicle screw failure of two groups,d-uration of operation, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative ambulation time, hospital stays and hospitalization costs. Difference was checked using spss17.0.Results The40cases were followed up, two cases were lost. The ratio of vertebra-l height, Cobb angle, Visual analogue scale(VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI)between pre-operation and post-operation in the two groups were significantly different-(P<0.05).The Visual analogue scale(VAS) and Oswestry disability index (ODI) were sig-nificantly different compared post-operation to postoperative follow-up between the twogroups(P<0.05). The two groups both was have significant difference in The ratio of ve-rtebral height and Cobb angle between the two groups with after the two operations(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the two groups with before surgical operation(P>0.05), The ratio of vertebral height and Cobb angle were significantly di-fferent compared post-operation to postoperative follow-up in the group B(P<0.05),but t- here was no significant difference in the group A(P>0.05).The Visual analogue scale(VAS) was significantly different at the1-week follow-up between the two groups(t=3.911,P=0.000<0.05), but there was no significant difference between the two groups with other time(P>0.05). The Oswestry disability index (ODI) was no significant difference between the two groups with after the two operations(P>0.05). The duration of operation, intraoperative blood loss, hospitalization costs were siginificantly different between the two groups(P<0.05),This three parameters in the group B are better than the group A.The postoperative ambulation time, hospital stays were siginificantly different between the two groups(P<0.05), This two parameters in the group A are better than the group B.There is no pedicle screw failure in two groups,In the fixture not occurs breaks off, theknee bend and so on.Conclusion Vertebral pillar block implantation united vertebral pedicle screw system is a safe and effective method for thoraeolumbar vertebral fractures, because it can restore the vertebral mechanical strength, maintain kyphosis correction, and reduce loss of vertebral height. It is worth to be used wildly.
