| Objective: Determine the threshold of auditory and steady-stateevoked responses (ASSR) and single-frequency steady-state response ofyoung adults with normal hearing and patients with a mild sensorineuraldeafness, Moderate sensorineural deafness, Severe sensorineuraldeafnessSensorineural deafness or Extremely severe sensorineuraldeafness to investigate the reliability of single-frequency steady-stateresponse.Method: The pure tone audiometry (PTA);ASSR and single-frequencysteady-state response were examined in32(64ears) young adults withnormal hearing whoes young doctors from Guangzhou No.1People’s Hospitaland129(258ears)patients with sensorineural deafness whoes patientsfrom Guangzhou No.1People’s Hospital and recorded the thresholds appearin500,1000,2000,4000Hz.Results: Innormalhearingyoungpeoplegroup,pearsoncorrelationsbetween the PTA thresholds and the ASSR thresholds were0.64,0.81,0.79and0.85appear in500,1000,2000and4000Hz;there was significantdifference between ASSR and single-frequency steady-state response at 500Hz;Pearson correlations between the PTA thresholds and thesingle-frequency steady-state response thresholds was0.81at500Hz.In patients with sensorineural deafness group,pearson correlationsbetween the PTA thresholds and the ASSR thresholds were0.61,0.81,0.79and0.85appear in500,1000,2000and4000Hz;there was significantdifference between ASSR and single-frequency steady-state response at500Hz;Pearson correlations between the PTA thresholds and thesingle-frequency steady-state response thresholds was0.85at500Hz.Conclusion: The correlation between the thresholds of ASSR and PTAis strong;not only in normal hearing young people group but also inpatients with sensorineural deafness group, single-frequencysteady-state response can improve this correlation at500Hz. |
