A keyword is an enrichment of a time. "Barefoot doctors" with Chinese characteristics of the vocabulary in the early stage of reform and opening-up with the condition of few trained doctor and very little medicine has its profound historical meaning. "Barefoot doctors" as a synonymous of the basic-level stall of medical, vividly describes the double role of the medical team. "Barefoot" is a symbol of the peasants, "doctor" means they must take the mission of guarding the health of farmers. It is this group which active in the field, had made an outstanding contribution to the Chinese history of medical and health. Currently, medical and health services in rural china is in transition, how to establish the rural medical security system to solve the health problems of rural life, will be a long-term strategic issue. In this context, the study of "Barefoot doctors" with the generation and change, will has a very important practical and theoretical value to understanding and interpretation of historical changes in China’s rural areas and the contemporary relationship between China’s rural reform and social change.My study, regard "Barefoot doctors" as the key word, by sorting out the different stages of policy change, analysis the cause of generation and the role to the history, to present Chinese economic development, national policy changes and changes in farmer behaviors, probing the refrence and inspiration of the change to China’s current rural health care system building.
