Our country is an agricultural country, agriculture shoulders the responsibility of the national food security, so it is particularly important to the development of agricultural mechanization. The emergence of combine harvester greatly promotes the development of agricultural mechanization in our country. Cutting machine as an important working part of the combine harvester, its structure and performance are directly related to the performance of the harvester. Therefore, the harvester cutting machine is studied by means of virtual assembly, and the cutting mechanism is researched by means of simulation. That is very important to shorten the product development cycle and improve product quality.To header assembly of harvester as an example, has carried on the preliminary discussion on the application of virtual assembly technology in harvester, and by using virtual prototype technology the cutter is analyzed. First of all, introduces the contents of the virtual assembly and its working process, and the harvester header assembly model are established based on the three-dimensional modeling software UG; Then the virtual assembly process, the product of the hierarchical structure, assembly process planning are analyzed, and based on DELMIA to realize the simulation of the assembly process of the cutting machine, provides a useful exploration for the in-depth application of virtual assembly technology in harvester; Moreover, introduces the structure and working principle of cutting mechanism, establishes the simulation model of cutting mechanism and has carried on the kinematics simulation, gets its simulation curves of displacement, velocity and acceleration, provides important data for the optimum design of cutting mechanism; Finally, cutting mechanism is optimized, improves the performance of the cutting mechanism.
