In order to meet the need of the intensive and large scale sheep raising, a sheep-feeding vehicle was designed and studied. Considering that the frame is the main load-bearing structure of the feeding vehicle, its static and dynamic properties were studied and structure optimization was conducted in this thesis. By building the model in Pro/E and then import it into software of Ansys Workbench the finite-element simulation analysis for the frame was performed for analyzing the strength, stiffness and modal properties, proved that it can meet the design requirements. Through modifying some structure the static and dynamic performance of the vehicle was improved but the vehicle’s weight was reduced.A manual operated system was designed and manufactured. A PLC controller was used in control system, realized the control of vehicle’s walking, feeding, acceleration and deceleration, stopping as well as backing operation. A PC monitoring subsystem was used to monitor the vehicle status and set the system parameters, and the current angle, vehicle speed and the amount of feeding delivery were displayed on the monitoring in real time. The vehicle’s steering control system was studied and the fuzzy PID controller was designed. Under MATLAB Simulink environment, the control system was simulated, making the response speed and control precision improved.
