The main aim in this study was to research the biological characteristics difference of Lactobacillus between giant panda and woman vaginal strains. The Lactobacillus were isolated and cultured from female reproductive pandas’ and women’vaginal secretions. The morphology, physiology, biochemistry and molecular biological of them were identified. We got 6 Lactobacillus strains,and the items such as hydrogen peroxide production capacity, acid tolerance, heat tolerance, drug sensitivity, antibiotic sensitivity and adhesion of the Lactobacillus from two sources were researched. The results were as follows:1.The strains Lactobacillus salivarus GPV01, Lactobacillus plantarum GPV02 and Lactobacillus saerimneri GPV03 obtained from pandas’vaginal secretions, and the strains Lactobacillus acidophilus WAV01, Lactobacillus crispatus WAV02 and Lactobacillus plantarum WAV03 were obtained from women’vaginal secretions. Both pandas’and women’vagina contained Lactobacillus plantarum (GPV02 and WAV03).2. The H2O2 production capacity and thermostability of the three Lactobacillus (GPV01, GPV02 and GPV03) isolated from giant pandas’vaginal secretion was lower than that(WAV01, WAV02 and WAV03) of women’in the same culture condition.3.Strong acidic environment had inhibitory effect on the growth of the six Lactobacillus (GPV01, GPV02, GPV03, WAV01, WAV02 and WAV03). The growth of the six Lactobacillus would be inhibited as the pH decreased. The cultural supematant of each lactobacillus could inhibited Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Hemolyticus streptococcus inordinately.4.Lactobacillus salivarus GPV01, Lactobacillus plantarum GPV02, Lactoba-cillus saerimneri GPV03, Lactobacillus acidophilus WAV01, Lactobacillus crisp-atus WAV02 and Lactobacillus plantarum WAV03 were generally sensitive to amoxicillin, ampicillin, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone and doxycyline; but resistant to streptomycin, gentamicin,, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim, cypeoterone, gatifloxa-cin and levoflocacin.The six Lactobacillus displayed sensitivity to tetracycline and rifampicin inordinately.5. All of the six Lactobacillus could adhere to Hela cell, the average number of Lactobacillus salivarus GPV01, Lactobacillus saerimneri GPV03, Lactobacillus acidophilus WAV01 and Lactobacillus plantarum WAV03 adhere to Hela cell were 18.8-32.8 CFU/cell, but the average number of Lactobacillus plantarum GPV02 downed fastly to 6.8 CFU/cell. However Lactobacillus crispatus WAV02 owned average 54.7 CFU/cell adhesion cell.In conclusion, there was a lot of differences between pandas’ and women’ vaginal Lactobacillus in biological characteristics. Different species of Lactobacillus exhibited different biological characteristics in the same culture condition. Even different strains of Lactobacillus belonged to same species exhibited different biological characteristics in the same culture conditions.
