| Exploiting untouched arable land in loess hilly region is one of the typical forms of land consolidation. Taking Shilou County of Shanxi Province as the study case, this paper analysed the land use status, social and economic conditions. At the same time, we also use the land suitability evaluation and GIS software, judging from the land forms, soil condition, and the nature condition, we divided the area into three region: river valley and hilly region of project type in Qianshan town, hilly and low mountainous region of project type in Hehe town and deep mound region of project type in Yidie-Luocun town. By analysing the main characteristics and different technical metheds and the quality of arable land, we put forward the corresponding suggestions:in river valley and hilly region of project type in Qianshan town, agricultural production capacity of cultivated land should be focused on and merged scattered plots; in hilly and low mountainous region of project type in Hehe town, the reasonable distribution should be paid more attention; the deep mound region of project type in Yidie-Luocun town should focus on the prevention of soil and water loss and strengthening measures for soil fertilization. The results of the study show that:through land development and consolidation engineering division, land leveling, land consolidation, water conservancy facilities, field layout of roads and shelterbelts and other measures, in the study area new cultivated area 103.24hm2 and area increase rate was 72.41%; cultivated land quality evaluation results show that, before the original quality of cultivated land development level 3, development improve the 20.6 points, improve grade 2, to enhance the level 1, cultivated land quality significantly improved. Division and engineering design projects in the studied area can be for Shanxi Province in Hilly and gully area of gully reclamation and ensure regional food security to provide a reference. |
