Sugarcane is the most important sugar crop in China. The problem of verification of authenticity must be taken into consideration in variety trail testing, seedling sales, variety rights protection, cross parents and germplasm resources management. It is an effective way to solve this problem by constructing the sugarcane DNA fingerprinting database and establishing the related identification standards. In this study, to address the issue of lacking of informationization management for sugarcane SSR fingerprinting data, a sugarcane SSR fingerprinting database was constructed and an information management system was developed. The main results were as follows:1. Based on the SSR loci data of the 31 important sugarcane clones, a sugarcane SSR fingerprint database was constructed.2. The Visual FoxPro 9.0 was occupied to develop a sugarcane SSR fingerprint database management system. The main functions of this system are the management and processing of sugarcane SSR molecular fingerprint data. By matching with existing data in the database, the new sugarcane SSR molecular fingerprint data can be identified, and thus the identification of certain sugarcane clones.3. The improved matching algorithm, Bin-Rabin-Karp, was designed based on the original Rabin-Karp algorithm, and thus improved the speed of data processing.These results are important to construct and manage the sugarcane DNA fingerprinting database. |
