| With the globalization of the world economy, there are more and more trades on plant and plant product between countries. Accordingly, the likelihood of contagion of pests is going up. Thus more attentions have been paid on pest risk analysis (PRA), which is one of the imperative tools to predict and prevent the contagion caused by exotic species. Especially since China became a member of WTO, the burden of PRA on plant and plant product imported to China has increased. Considering accuracy of the PRA results depends on information, it is urgent to build a management information system (MIS), which can help professionals in making PRA more efficiently and scientifically.This thesis has two main parts. The first part introduces the design of China-PRAMIS as the PRA-assistant MIS, based on principle of the software engineering. It includes requirement analysis on current PRA working, structure and function of the system. Framework of the system is composed by B/S and C/S. SQL server 20000 is used as database management system to store all data. User end of the system are made up of two parts. One is the web system developed by ASP, and another part is the so-called 'green software', which is an ordered Word software product developed by VBA. The whole system not only provides a platform for PRA professionals to communicate with each other and to help them in managing information of pests, references, reporters, etc., but also could generate a PRA report semiautomatically with facilitating artificial jobs.Consecutively, the second part presents the development of a database as a subsystem of China-PRAMIS. It has been set up for pest information management, according to models that are formulated by analyzing the PRA processing work. Now the subsystem can run over the Web and users from different application domains can visit or administer it, according to their authorization. User can get the required information on pests for particular plant hosts in any country. The subsystem will become the basic to develop the whole PRA-assistant system, China-PRAMIS. This subsystem could also become a single one to be applied alone to server professionals in IPM.At the end of this thesis, some suggestions have been given on the development of other subsystems of the whole PRA-assistant system. |
