Rice is one of the major food crops in the world,nearly half of the world’s population is fed on rice.Rice blast,caused by Magnaprothe oryzae,is one of the three most serious rice diseases.Each year,the product of rice worldwide fell by 10% to 30% due to rice blast. Remorin proteins blong to a protein family that is associated with membrane/lipid rafts.Remorin proteins are widely distributed in moss,gymnosperms and angiosperms.The localization of remorin proteins is normally on membrane or between the plant mature plasmodesmata,therefor remorin proteins may participate in the formation of cytoskeleton and membrane skeleton and signal transduction.Though there are increasing researches about remorin proteins,yet the function and mechanism of remotins are still unclear.Therefor to study remorin proteins is of great significance:First of all,to reveal the role of remorins in the pathway of OGA can give a deeper understanding to the mechanism of OGA actions.Secondly,the characteristics of lipid rafts can be explained by studying remorins.Thirdly,the phenomenon that remorins are uprelated after sitimulated by biotic or abiotic stress illustrates that remorins may play an important role in plant defense response.That is to say,researches of remorins’structure and function not only are ways to reveal the mechanism of plant defense respons but also can possiblely discuss new methods to strength plant resistance to stresses.In order to explain the role of OsREMl.2 in rice resistance to rice blast,taking overexpressed OsREMl.2 transgenetic lines and non-transgenetic rice lines as materials,we conducted experiments as resistance identification,subcellular localization and yeast two-hybrid.We investigated the major agronomic traits of overexpressing transgenetic lines and wild type lines,such as height and numbers of tillers,and found no obvious differencese.Statistic calculating of lesions’number and size after inoculated with rice blast shows that transgenetic lines are better defensive to rice blast compared with wild type. Staining the matirials with Uvitex after 24h and 48h inoculation with rice blast to observe the infection process of blast,the result tells us that it is possible that OsREM1.2 can increase the resistance to rice blast by slowing down the process of infection.Conducted in rice protoplasts to show the subcellular localization of OsREMl.2,the results show that OsREM1.2 is located on the plasma membrane of rice, which is consist with the character of remorin proteins.The result also shows that OsREM1.2 can improve the rice resistance to rice blast is also related to its localization on the plasma membrane.Screening the interacted proteins of OsREMl.2 through yeast two-hybrid,a dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase protein is found,which is a complex enzyme that can catalyse the irrevisible reaction of CoA.Thence we can speculate that OsREMl.2 improving rice resistance to blast by participating in the complex enzyme system of dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase.
